Our Felt Making workshop is run by talented textile artist Jo Polack.
People have been felt making with natural fibres for thousands of years and all across the globe. It is at once an ancient way of fabric making and a vibrant contemporary art form. This felt making course will immerse you in this wonderful world!
Felt making workshop outline:
You’ll start with an introduction to basic felt making technique, a chance to explore the huge range of felt making colours and gorgeous wools. You will create at least one ‘flat felt piece’ such as a wall hanging, or picture to frame. Time allowing, you can buildon your skills and move on to make ‘3D’ or moulded felt items such as a small vessel, ipod cover, glasses case or purse, we’ve even had a cloche hat!
As well as completed felt works of art you will leave equipped with felt making techniques and ideas to continue feltmaking at home.
Prices include tuition, materials and tea & coffee. We can also arrange lunch and dinner options to suit your budget. Minimum booking – 3 hours.
Private: £50 per hour
Semi-Private (2 people): £35 per person per hour
3-4: £25 per person per hour
4-8: £17.50 per person per hour
9+: £10 per person per hour

Who should attend a felt making workshop?
This is for anyone interested in learning more about felt making. You don’t need to have had any previous experience but this is also suitable for those who have felted before and want to take their skills to the next level.
What to bring:
All materials and an apron is supplied for you but please be aware this is a wet felt making technique so wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little wet.
