Holly Young, leader of our hat making courses, trained at the London College of Fashion, in costume design where she developed her passion for hats and head pieces! Focusing on millinery throughout her course she completed an internship with the English National Opera millinery department and was awarded first class honours for her final dissertation. Holly went on to work with some of London’s most prestigious theatre companies including the English National Ballet and dressing for the cast of Blood Brothers at the Pheonix Theatre.
Holly’s millinery career really took off when she worked with top designers, Justin Smith, Sara Esom and Deryck Walker at London Fashion Week.
Holly, now a respected milliner in her own right, has been designing and creating her own fascinators and head pieces since 2010. Holly recently featured as a guest tutor at Atelier Millinery in Carnaby Street, London. She also freelances for Philip Tracey having spent 3 months working there in 2012.
Holly regularly runs workshops for groups and hen parties and with the help of The Princes Trust she has created and designed her own collection, featured here: Holly Young Shoot.
