A new set of sewing courses for machine sewers in Cornwall.
Do you own a sewing machine but don’t know where to start?
Do you want to start sewing but don’t have a machine yet?
Did you once know your way around your machine but feel a bit out of practise?
This course is for you!
Over five weeks our expert tutor will gently guide you in a small group through the basics of machine sewing, de-mystify the machinery, and help you realise how easy it all is!
At the end of it you will have at least 3 finished items which you could use as gifts (or keep for yourself !) which you will be equipped to re-make over again at home in your own time.
More courses will run soon focussing on dress-making and sewing for interiors, and this is an excellent starting point to undertake both of these, or to stand alone as an great beginning to your own creative stitching practice. I never thought I’d be able to do that after just one lesson!
I never thought I’d be able to do that after just one lesson!
Having mastered the basics in the beginners course, the next 5 sessions will build upon your learning to really give you confidence behind the needle.
We will cover more advanced seaming and hemming techniques, fastenings such as zips and button holes, and begin to explore the different weights of fabrics in more detail. We may even do some dressmaking!
