Incorporating design, drawing and 3 dimensional creation, working with textiles can be challenging, exhilarating and exciting. Experience the joy of working with cloth and fabric!
Aggie Arts offers a number of textile workshops from its coastal location in St Agnes, Cornwall. Overlooking the coast and exploring the coastline, you can’t help but be inspired to create some of your finest textile work!
Workshops currently available:
Upcycled homewares courses with Annalise Harvey, an award-winning wedding dress maker. For those who love vintage textiles: maybe you have an old curtain from your childhood bedroom, or your grandma’s favourite apron?
In these fun craft workshops you can use your cherished items, or indeed any fabric of your choice to create useful but funky items to brighten up your home and bring those past memories back into the present!
Felt Fantastic with Jo Polack. This is for anyone interested in learning more about felt making. You don’t need to have had any previous experience but this is also suitable for those who have felted before and want to take their skills to the next level.
Freehand Machine Embroidery with Poppy Treffry, one of Cornwall’s finest exports and published author. Learn how to master a cranky Singer sewing machine and produce pieces of hand-stitched wonderfulness! Poppy will be on hand to trouble shoot as you learn to scribble, shade and appliqué with your machine (or one of Poppy’s Singers).
Dress making courses. In this workshop Annalise Harvey will guide you through the basic techniques required to follow a simple pattern. This is a perfect workshop for people new to dress making who’d like to create their own garments from fabric to finish!
